PROBLEM

Nigel Beauty Emporium is a wholesale beauty supply store targeting professional make up artists as their main customers. They are one of the top well known shops among make up artists professional, yet their website was not easy to use. With their well-known status, Nigel Beauty has a lot of potential in expanding their target customers by improving their online brand presence. One of the ways is to improve Nigelbeauty.com website by adapting to a more modern take of the brand and webpage navigation flow.

SOLUTION

The website layout, navigation, product categorization is simplified to enhance user flow of ecommerce task. With a more simplified design, the site can focus on showing relevant products to relevant users, inviting new users, and improving brand recognition.​

HIGH FIDELITY PROTOTYPE

Using the new logo and branding, Nigel Beauty website is updated with simplified layout and navigation to eliminate unnecessary user process of searching for product and completing a purchase. A high fidelity prototype was created using Axure RP. 

USER TESTING

User testing evaluation was done through questionnaires and user task analysis on the redesigned Nigel beauty website prototype. The data gathered through interviewing users ranging from their familiarity of purchasing online products, Nigel Beauty brand, and make up skills. The focus of this test is to determine site's usability, including smooth page transition and user flow interactions

The evaluation process was done in user's natural setting and questionnaires are done remotely using Google Forms.

SUMMARY

From data findings and user testings on the redesigned Nigel Beauty website, most users find their online purchase experience is improved. The redesigned logo is also more approachable to users who are not familiar with this

e-commerce. By simplifying page element, using hierarchical organization, and using stay on page functions, the redesigned web page prototype is more inviting and easy to use.
